Good Tidings and Merriment

Tree lighting in Sister Bay.

Warm up your holiday spirit, tune up your caroling voice, bundle up the kids, and join the festivities at Sister Bay’s Capture the Spirit event, Nov. 28-30.

The village lights will glow brightly Friday, Nov. 28 beginning at 4:30 pm with the lighting of luminaries around downtown and the village Christmas tree and decorations at the corner of Mill Road and North Bay Shore Drive (Highway 42). Santa and Mrs. Claus will bring good tidings and merriment to all with his arrival and as he leads the children to the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library for storytelling and crafts after the tree lighting. A free entry raffle for Birch Creek Music Performance tickets will be held at the tree lighting.

Bring your sweet tooth, creativity and children to the holiday cookie decorating on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 3 – 5 pm at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station. Piggly Wiggly and Sister Bay Advancement Association sponsor these sweet treats.

Santa reads to children at Sister Bay’s Capture the Spirit event.

Wrap up the weekend Sunday, Nov. 30 with the festival’s newest addition, Children’s Christmas Store, sponsored by Family Centers of Door County. Children ages 4-12 shop for presents for their family in the Sister Bay Village Hall from 11am – 1pm. Local businesses donate items and gift certificates that children may purchase at deeply discounted rates. Santa’s elves help children shop and wrap their presents so children may surprise their parents.

Shop locally for gifts for your family and friends at the annual Friends of Gibraltar Arts and Crafts Show inside the village hall Nov. 28 – 29, from 10am – 5pm Friday, and 10am – 4pm Saturday.
