Gov. Evers has announced a fund for small businesses – including those that started in 2020 – through which they can receive $5,000. Details have not yet been finalized. Learn more at revenue.wi.gov.
Eligible businesses can apply to the current COVID-19 recovery programs, PPP2 and EIDL. For arts organizations, there is the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant, and for dining establishments, there is the restaurant grant opportunity. Email Julie Schmelzer at [email protected] to find out more about these programs.
The Door County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) also offers two low-interest loan programs. The first is for those who have been affected by, or who want to make improvements as a result of, COVID-19 – for example, upgrading an HVAC system or installing seating that’s less susceptible to germs. These loans have a limit of $50,000.
The DCEDC’s second program is a gap financing program. Proprietors must go to a bank first; then DCEDC will try to meet the remaining need.
