Grammy Winner Lyle Lovett Takes the DCA Stage

On July 20 at 8 pm, four-time Grammy winner and country/Americana icon Lyle Lovett will return to the Door Community Auditorium (DCA) stage. Lovett played to an enthusiastic, sold-out Fish Creek house last year. For his return performance, Lovett will again be accompanied by his legendary Large Band, which this year will include a 10-piece choir.

Lovett has created his own style of American music in a career that spans 14 albums and more than four million records sold. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, the Texas-based Lovett has defied convention by fusing elements of blues, country, folk, gospel and jazz with a gift for storytelling, as evidenced by such hits as “If I Had a Boat,” “She’s No Lady,” and “My Baby Don’t Tolerate.”

At DCA, Lovett will perform with his renowned Large Band, featuring more than a dozen brass players, multiple string players, and a 10-piece choir. Together, Lovett and his band will hoot, rock and rollick.

Among his many accolades (and four Grammy Awards), Lovett was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award, and was recently named the Texas State Musician.

Tickets range from $78 to $98. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12-5 pm. For tickets, stop by the box office, call 920.868.2728 or visit dcauditorium.org.
