Grants Awarded to Housing Partnership, Crossroads

The Door County Housing Partnership (DCHP) recently received a grant for $5,000 from the Women’s Fund of Door County – a component fund of the Door County Community Foundation – for the Affordable Housing Home Collaborative Build

DCHP is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to construct a home for a single mother and her four children. DCHP keeps homes affordable in perpetuity by using the Community Land Trust model, which includes careful pricing strategies for the first buyer and a resale formula that ensures affordability for subsequent buyers.

The Door County Community Foundation also awarded Crossroads at Big Creek a $10,000 sustainability grant from Healthy Water Door County that will support the construction of three bridges and boardwalks to help protect the wetlands and improve water quality at Crossroads and beyond. Safe and accessible bridges will enhance the recreational experience for all learners.
