Gravity Trails of Door County Offers Gem Mining

Gravity Trails Zip Line and Kayak Tours of Door County is now offering gem mining as its newest activity. Adults and children of all ages can now purchase pails of gem enriched soil and sift through them in a 16-foot mining flume, which pumps 80 gallons of water a minute.

There are two different size pails, a 2-quart pail for $10 and a 5-quart pail for $20. Miners can discover up to 15 different types of gems and minerals. Staff will be on hand to help identify and educate miners of their find. Miners will leave with a bag of gems. Mining flumes are covered so mining can take place rain or shine.

Gravity Trails Zip Line and Kayak Tours is a multi-recreational activity center that operates out of the Rowleys Bay Resort in Ellison Bay. Gravity Trails is open daily and offers zip line tours, kayak tours of the Mink River Estuary, rock climbing, and gem mining. Gravity Trails is located at 1041 County Rd ZZ, Ellison Bay.
