Write On, Door County is partnering with the Door County Maritime Museum to present Great Lakes/Great Books, a monthly book club featuring books with a Great Lakes focus.
Books of fiction, nonfiction and poetry that have the Great Lakes as subject matter or as settings will be discussed with a facilitator from Write On.
The group meets at 10:30 am the first Thursday of each month at the museum. Those dates are Dec. 1, Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 2, April 6 and May 4.
The following is a proposed book list that is subject to change: December – The Windward Shore: A Winter on the Great Lakes by Jerry Dennis; January – Ashes Under Water: The SS Eastland and the Shipwreck that Shook America by Michael McCarthy; February – The Bone House by Brian Freeman; March – Ship Captain’s Daughter: Growing Up on the Great Lakes by Ann Michler Lewis; April – Water Music: The Great Lakes State Poetry Anthology by the Poetry Society of Michigan; May – The Death and Life of the Great Lakes by Dan Egan.
