Greco Gallery Features Local Artist Kris Bungener

A landscape by Kris Bungener

Sturgeon Bay’s Greco Gallery is featuring new artwork and accessories from local artist Kris Bungener. Her most recent pieces include cards, gift boxes, and jewelry with a “fresh, spring-look to it.” Bungener has also been experimenting with art papers and paste, creating “Landscape Vignettes of Paper.” “Creating with paper, whether drawing, painting, or in this case, shaping with paste, is very satisfying” says Bungener. “The search for different papers to reflect some of nature’s textures is quite fun. Papers may be similar, but the end results after applying and manipulating pastes are never the same… Each vignette is a one of a kind, original composition, and meant to bring a smile to someone.”

“With each new season,” says Bungener, “I design jewelry that I’m hopeful will reflect the mood of that time of year. With spring around the corner, lighter, softer colors and greens come to mind. From the jewelry and small packages, to paper landscapes and notecards, my designs are to reflect the kind of lifestyle we embrace here in Door County.” Greco Gallery “an Artistic Boutique” is located at 24 N. Third Ave. in downtown Sturgeon Bay. Regular hours are from 10 am to 5 pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 am to 5:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 am to 2 pm Sundays.
