Green Drinks Continues Conversation on Food Co-op

On Monday, August 22 Green Drinks will host the second of two public conversations about the advent of a member-owned, retail food store on Sturgeon Bay’s west side.

The event will be held at Glas Green Coffeehouse in Sturgeon Bay from 5 – 7 pm. Glas is located at 67 E Maple Street in Sturgeon Bay, just west of the new bridge.

In addition to conversation focusing on what residents want in a member-owned grocery, a short film on the local food co-op will be screened. Principal organizers will be on hand to answer questions. More information about local food co-ops can be found at http://www.go.coop/kinds-co-ops/food-retail and http://www.foodcoopinitiative.coop/.

Local food producers and processors and members of buying clubs should be particularly interested in the opportunities to be found in this new enterprise. The event is open to the public.

Green Drinks Door County, providing social networking opportunities for those interested in local sustainability, is a joint initiative of Sustain Door, Inc. and Glas Green Coffeehouse.
