Green Tea Band at TAP

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) is hosting Green Tea, an original indie roots rock band, on April 28 at 7:30 pm. The band formed at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and has various musical roots from Celtic fusion to indie. Their upcoming new album, Wake the Conscious, highlights their fresh perspective in songwriting where they mix original indie hooks and lyrics with driving progressions. They are also known to give energized performances that have a hint of “live jamming.”

The band is endorsed by jamLink and was nominated for a 2010 WAMI and two MAMAs in 2008. Also, their song “Shafted” received honorable mention in the 17th Billboard World Song Contest. The band has also played the same stages as Melissa Etheridge, Nickel Creek, Indigo Girls, Blues Traveler, Guster, Richie Havens, Violent Femmes, and more.

Green Tea consists of Aaron Scharmer on the keys; John Julka on the bass; John Coletta on flutes/whistles, vocals, and hands; Trevor Roark on vocals and guitars; and Zach Hubert on the drums.

Ticket prices are $20 for general admission, $15 for military, $10 for students, and $5 for student rush (one half hour before show, cash only).
