Green Tip: Use a Clothesline

The average U.S. household that chooses to abandon its utility-powered clothes dryer can save more than $200 per year on electric, natural gas or propane bills. There are more than 90 million of these electric clothes dryers in the country, according to the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers. Air-drying clothes can reduce the average household’s carbon footprint by 2,400 pounds per year.
