Greens N Grains Screens “Bonsai People”

April is the Month of Microfinance. With that in mind, Greens N Grains’ Green Door Film Society will screen filmmaker Holly Mosher’s latest work, Bonsai People – The Vision of Muhammad Yunus. The April 5 film will spread greater public awareness of the microfinance movement.

Bonsai People celebrates Muhammad Yunus’s extraordinary humanitarian work, which started by lending $27 to 42 people out of his own pocket and has now grown to helping one out of every 1,000 people on Earth.

Yunus has created a reverse mirror image of conventional banking – loan small not big, loan to women not men, loan rural not urban, loan to the poor not the rich. He has tackled some of the world’s most vexing problems from healthcare to education to alternative energy and demonstrates to the world that complex problems sometimes do have simple solutions.

Greens N Grains Deli will host a natural and organic dinner special for $7.50 beginning at 6 pm. The screening will begin at 7 pm. There is no charge, but seating at is limited to 30 people. Reservations are requested.
