Griffon Quartet Celebrates One Year

The Griffon Quartet will play at Egg Harbor’s Kress Pavilion on May 25, 7 pm. To conclude and celebrate their first season as Midsummer’s Music’s quartet in residence, Griffon members will perform Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 33, No. 3, “The Bird;” Philip Glass’ String Quartet No. 3, “Mishima;” and Brahms’ String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, Op. 51, No. 2.

The Griffon String Quartet – one of the most vibrant and engaging of its generation – formed in the fall of 2018 as a collaboration among Midsummer’s Music, the Fine Arts Institute at Green Bay’s East High and St. Norbert College in De Pere.

Members include violinists Roy Meyer and Vinicius Sant’Ana, violist Blakeley Menghini, and cellist Ryan Louie. They all have advanced degrees and professional experience as educators and performers.

Tickets are $29 per adult, $10 per student and free for children 12 and younger. To learn more and buy tickets, visit midsummersmusic.com.
