Griffon String Quartet Begins Second Season of Performances and Outreach

Midsummer’s Music’s resident Griffon String Quartet will celebrate its second season of concerts and community and educational events with a series of performances throughout northeast Wisconsin featuring Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 in C Minor, Op. 110, and Schubert’s String Quartet No. 14 in D Minor, D.810, “Death and the Maiden.”
The quartet will perform Oct. 10, 7 pm, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sister Bay; Oct. 11, 7:30 pm, at St. Norbert College’s Dudley Birder Hall in De Pere; Oct. 12, 7 pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay; and Oct. 13, 6 pm, with the Green Bay Chamber Music Society in Green Bay. It will also perform a selection of movements from the Shostakovich and Schubert pieces in a Library Live presentation Oct. 12, 1-2 pm, at the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay.
