Griffon String Quartet Offers Four Concerts

The Griffon String Quartet will soon perform four winter concerts. Hailed for its “superb playing, palpable chemistry, spirit and emotional connection,” the ensemble will feature Beethoven’s Quartet No. 7 in F Major and Smetana’s Quartet No. 1 in E Minor, “From My Life,” as well as holiday favorites and a sing-along. The concerts are free, but donations are appreciated at the door.

Performances will be held Dec. 13, 5 pm, at Hope United Church of Christ in Sturgeon Bay; Dec. 14, 1 pm, at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay for Library Live; Dec. 14, 7 pm, at Green Bay’s First Presbyterian Church; and Dec. 15, 3 pm, at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor.

The Griffon String Quartet formed in the fall of 2018 as a collaboration among Midsummer’s Music (midsummersmusic.com), the Fine Arts Institute at East High in Green Bay and St. Norbert College in De Pere. Its members are violinists Roy Meyer and Vinicius Sant’Ana, violist Blakeley Menghini and cellist Ryan Louie, all of whom have advanced degrees and significant professional experience.
