Griffon String Quartet to Play at LibraryLIVE

LibraryLIVE will feature Midsummer’s Music Griffon String Quartet on Dec. 14, 1 pm. The concert is free and open to the public at the Miller Art Museum, located inside the Sturgeon Bay Library.

The event will start with a presentation of two newly inducted Library Champions: Carl Scholz and Carl Mengert. Scholz is the former Sevastopol Schools superintendent, a Governor’s Award winner, an ecologist, educator and a member of the Door County Library Foundation. Mengert is a long-time member of the Door County Library Foundation (1988-2016), an educator and well-known watercolor artist. They each have selected a book in their honor to be placed in circulation throughout the Door County Libraries and will receive Library Champion certificates.

After the presentation, guests will enjoy selections from Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 in F Major, Op. 59 No. 1, Bedřich Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1 in E minor,  and seasonal favorites.
