Griffon To Present Virtual Spring String Concert

The Griffon String Quartet (midsummersmusic.com) will simultaneously stream its March 14, 3 pm, spring concert on the Griffon’s and the Midsummer’s Music YouTube channels.

The performance repertoire includes Zoltan Kodály’s Intermezzo for String Trio; the Andante movement from Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos’ 1945 String Trio; Argentinian composer, violinist and University of North Dakota instructor Alejandro Drago’s LaBuda’s Tantric Tango; and legendary Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla’s haunting Oblivion. In addition to performing virtual concerts during the pandemic, Griffon members continue online instruction with string students in Door County and Green Bay, and they provide weekly educational videos for children at the Boys & Girls Club of Door County.
