Stephen Cooper & the Nobody Famous will take the stage at the Peg Egan Performing Art Center Aug. 22, 7 pm.
Sizzling horns, a rhythm section that hits like a jackhammer and guitar that’s as seductive as it is destructive, and at the forefront, Stephen Cooper. Combining rock, R&B, soul, jazz, blues and funk like a musical mad scientist, he’s drawn on 25 years of musical experience to create something truly special. Meticulous rhythm punctuated by horn section mastery, Cooper’s commanding vocals over the top, this group builds on the framework of the classic Motown-Stax-Chess groove, but through a 21st century filter and with all the subtlety of a stampeding rhino.
The free concerts are held at the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center,
