Guest Artist Elena Santiago to Teach Dance Classes

Andria’s Dancin’ On The Door School Of Dance is excited to announce guest artist Elena Santiago will offer three different classes on Aug. 20.

The classes are:

  • Creative Movers (ages 4-6), 12 pm, $12 – Young movers are guided through basic exploration of motor skills, musicality and rhythms in a fun and creative environment. Dancers will explore expression through movement using improvisation and composition tools and will gain a basic technical foundation to create original movement.
  • Teen Contemporary Class (ages 10-17), 2 pm, $20 – This introductory class will explore the functional mechanics of the body by exploring technique, musicality and performance qualities. This class is structured traditionally with a warm up, center work and concluding with original choreography. Dancers will gain inner strength, refine technical skills and express their passion to move. Beginners welcome.
  • Adult Contemporary Class (age 18+), 5:30 pm, $20 – Same description as the class above. Beginners welcome.

Santiago, originally from Sturgeon Bay, started her classical ballet training at the age of 13 at The Green Bay School of Dance under the direction of Timothy Joseph. Her passion and talent for dance earned her a scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her bachelor’s degree in Dance. She also studied and earned a certificate from The Ailey School in New York City.

Currently, Santiago is a dance educator at Marymount School of New York while completing her final year of graduate school, working toward her Masters in Dance Education at Hunter College in New York City.
