Habitat for Humanity Approves 41st Home Build

Door County Habitat for Humanity approved the Purdy family for their 41st home build. Amanda and Jacob Purdy have five children who are also excited to be involved in the home build process. Volunteers will spend this summer building the new home in Sturgeon Bay, working on Tuesdays and Thursdays, weather permitting.

Partner families for Habitat for Humanity go through a rigorous approval process. A committee of volunteers look at the applicant’s current living situation, ability to pay the mortgage, and their willingness to contribute to their home through sweat equity hours.

Door County Habitat for Humanity is in its 25th year and has helped 130 people, including 87 children, into new homes throughout Door County. Applications for future partners are being accepted. Anyone that is interested in applying to be a Habitat for Humanity partner can visit their office at 410 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, or call David or Megan at 920.743.2869.
