Habitat for Humanity Hopes to Build Two Homes in 2015

As Door County Habitat for Humanity enters their 22nd year, their goal is to provide two homes for two more partner families. Additionally, they plan to complete 10 A Brush with Kindness Projects.

Both the home construction and A Brush with Kindness programs help improve families housing conditions. Through volunteer labor and donations, materials and labor are provided to construct or refurbish homes and complete A Brush with Kindness projects. Partner families invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the houses of others. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.

Supporting Door County Habitat for Humanity provides a “hand up,” ensuring stability and a sense of dignity and pride to families and children. If you are already a donor, consider renewing your gift with a year-end contribution to the annual giving campaign. Sharing time and/or financial resources will contribute toward the thousands of volunteer hours and the $200,000 necessary to fulfill Habitat’s mission next year.
