Habitat, Housing Partnership Dedicate New Home

A partnership between Door County Habitat for Humanity (DCHH) and the Door County Housing Partnership (DCHP) resulted in the Dec. 15 dedication of Habitat’s 45th home in Door County and the first built in collaboration with DCHP.

Sixty DCHH volunteers have been working since early this summer to build this home and a second in the same neighborhood that will be dedicated later. Once the final details on this home are completed, Melissa Krueger will purchase it with a mortgage through DCHH. The land, however, will be held in trust by the DCHP to ensure long-term affordability to future owners. Special thanks go to the Women’s Fund of Door County for a $5,000 sustainability grant.

DCHH accepts applications to its home-ownership program year-round. Learn more at doorhabitat.org/services/home-ownership, or pick up an application at the DCHH office, 410 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.
