Half Marathon Registration Opens Oct. 1

Registration for one of Wisconsin’s premier running events opens Oct. 1. That’s when runners can lock in their spot for the 13th Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5K. The runs will take place Saturday, May 2, 2020, on a closed-road course in Door County’s beautiful Peninsula State Park.
The half marathon, capped at 2,000 participants, takes runners along the shore of Lake Michigan, atop the bluffs of the Niagara Escarpment and through the pristine forest of one of Wisconsin’s most popular and revered destinations. Plus, the race starts at 10 am, so you won’t need a pre-dawn wake-up call.
Likened to “running in a cathedral in the woods” by writer Tom Held, the race attracts participants from across the United States to the peninsula, which offers 298 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, acclaimed restaurants, galleries and shopping.
“Few running destinations can offer what Door County brings to the table,” said race director Brian Fitzgerald. “You’ve got a community that opens its arms to our participants, stunning surroundings and a team that puts runners first, from the shuttles that pick them up at hotels to the post-run party at local restaurants and taverns.”
All half marathon finishers receive a commemorative race running shirt and a medal, and 5K runners receive a short-sleeved shirt. Plus, all finishers may enjoy a free beer from One Barrel Brewing Company at Nicolet Bay and live music in the concourse after the race.
Runners who take advantage of early-bird pricing by Nov. 1 will receive $20 off the day-of-event registration price.
