Halloween Film Fest at Third Avenue Playhouse

On Oct. 31 at 7 pm, Third Avenue Playhouse will host Halloween Film Fest.

The Old Dark House is a 1932 film starring Boris Karloff, Melvyn Douglas, Charles Laughton, and directed by James Whale. Seeking shelter from a storm, five travelers are in for a bizarre and terrifying night when they stumble upon the Femm family estate.


From a slab in the morgue, a dead young woman tells the bizarre tale of how she got there, through a maze of murder involving a hypnotist, a midget and a mysterious figure in a blue mask in Scared to Death. This 1947 movie stars Bela Lugosi, George Zucco, Molly Lamont, and is directed by Christy Cabanne.
