Sturgeon Bay’s Thrills on Third

Ghosts, witches, zombies … Oh, my! Watch out for the spooky characters you may come across during the eighth annual Thrills on Third event, sponsored by Quantum PC Services and happening throughout the 3rd Avenue area in Sturgeon Bay. Visit the Door County Library, 107 S. 4th Ave., anytime during the event to make some slime.

10 am – 1 pm: Costume parade on 3rd Avenue. All ages – and pets – are welcome to join the costume contest to compete for prizes, too! Gather at Community Foundation Square by 10 am. The parade ends at Martin Park. After the parade, trick-or-treat at 3rd Avenue businesses until 1 pm.

10:30 am – 1 pm: Haunted house at the Boys & Girls Club of Door County, 55 S. 3rd Ave.

Cherry Lanes Halloween Party, Sturgeon Bay

12-8 pm: Join the bowling and arcade bar for a family-friendly Halloween party. The bowling alleys, which have operated in the building since 1929, will take on an eerie aura; and spooky décor, a disco ball and a smoke machine will add to the experience while playing classic arcade games and pinball machines. Food and beverages are available.

Egg Harbor’s Halloween Safe Walk

2-4 pm: Take your little ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating through the streets and shops of Egg Harbor! Look for a sign in the window of participating shops.

Fish Creek’s Jack O’ Lantern Days 

This festival puts the “Eek!” in Fish Creek! A true hometown Halloween festival, Jack O’ Lantern Days will entertain witches and ghoulies of all ages. 

9 am – 12 pm: Mask-Making Extravaganza at Family Art Day at the Peninsula School of Art

10 am – 2 pm: Gibraltar Fire and Rescue open house with food and drinks, tours of the station and children’s games

10 am – 4 pm: Interactive raptor exhibit by Open Door Bird Sanctuary and mini horses for photos at Founder’s Square 

12-12:30 pm: Halloween costume parade at Clark Park

12:30-1 pm: Halloween costume contest at Clark Park

1-3 pm: Kids’ Halloween party at the Old Town Hall

1-3 pm: Trick-or-treating at businesses throughout Fish Creek


Door County North Halloween Activities

3-6 pm: Enjoy pumpkin carving and fall décor crafting, beverages, snacks and candy for trick-or-treating at Door County Love Granola/Kick Ash Coffee in Ellison Bay. Costumes are encouraged! 


Ghost Ship, Sturgeon Bay

Your heart may flutter with floating scares when the U.S. Coast Guard presents the 39th edition of its Ghost Ship. For this annual event, local Coast Guard members create haunted rooms on their barge that guests pass through. The boat will be docked at the pier at Sawyer Park, just south of the Maple-Oregon Bridge. Admission is free, but donations of nonperishable food items for local food banks are appreciated.

5-6:30 pm: “Lights on” haunt for younger children

6:45-8:30 pm: “Lights off” haunt for older kids and adults 


Haunted Harbor Halloween Party, Baileys Harbor

Head to Baileys Harbor for a haunted good time: lots of activities for the kids, food and drink, a haunted house and a spooky sensory table.

5-7 pm: Trick-or-treating throughout town

6:30-8 pm: Halloween party at the Town Hall

7:30 pm: Kids’ Halloween costume contest

Halloween Activities, Sister Bay 

3:30 pm – dusk: Trick-or-treating in the Village of Sister Bay

6-7:30 pm: Sister Bay Lions Club’s kids’ Halloween party, with games and prizes, at the Sister Bay Fire Station

Halloween Family Night, Sturgeon Bay

5-7:30 pm: Activities, Hotel Transylvania, treats and more at the Sturgeon Bay Community Auditorium

Halloween Parties for Adults on Oct. 26

Why should kids have all the fun? Halloween is one of those rare occasions when you can humor your inner child by dressing up in an outlandish costume, so costumes are, of course, encouraged. Check out these Halloween activities for some nighttime adult fun. 

• Kitty O’Reilly’s Irish Pub in Sturgeon Bay has live music by Whiskey Ditch, 6-9:30 pm, on the outdoor, heated, haunted patio, with drink specials and a costume contest, 10-10:30 pm. 

• Door County Brewing Co. Taproom & Music Hall in Baileys Harbor will host a Halloween carnival with Americana music by the Zach Pietrini Band, 7-9 pm. Participate in costume contests for customers and staff at 8 pm. 

Wave Pointe Marina and Resort in Sturgeon Bay will celebrate 7-11 pm with classic rock by Glas Hamr and a costume contest at 10 pm.

• Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay will host live classic rock by Mad Cats at 8 pm, an appetizer buffet, and a costume contest at 11 pm. 

• Bayside Tavern in Fish Creek will host its Halloween bash from 9 pm on.
