Throughout the summer months, Hands On Art Studio is offering instructional workshops as well as walk in, freewheeling creative experiences for any individual wishing to create a work of art.
Hands On offers the chance for families to create paintings together from 6:30 – 9 pm on Wednesday evenings through Labor Day. Family Night will offer all the studio options that are available during the day at Hands On, with a few new twists. There will be free marshmallows for families to roast over a fire pit and an instructional painting workshop.
“I see families working on art projects all of the time at Hands On,” stated Cy Turnbladh, owner of Hands On Art Studio. “Why not play together on the same canvas to create a fun work of art for your home?”
In addition to their Family Nights, Hands On has scheduled a few other opportunities for creative endeavors. On Tuesdays, from 10 am – 2 pm, the art studio will offer an Australian music-inspired workshop. In this “Down Under” opportunity, participants can create their own didgeridoo and tambourine, as well as learn techniques to play them.
Two different artistic opportunities will be the focus of the summer workshops on Thursdays. From 10 am – noon, the emphasis will be on abstract art, and from 2 – 6 pm a shift will be made toward landscape art. During this time, a friendly painter will be on hand with advice to take the fear out of painting outdoors.
