Hans Christian Announces Deep Listening Concerts

Hans Christian’s versatility as cellist, recording artist, and producer has for three decades created a legacy of concerts and recordings that have touched people’s hearts around the world. He reaches deep into the listener’s soul to connect with an ancient wisdom that feeds us in a time of turmoil and unsettled energies. His music opens a gateway to healing and balancing.

On July 15 at 11 am, Hans Christian will accompany an all-levels yoga class, taught by Mari Anderson and Sarah Litterio, in the Hotel Washington’s Studio at 354 Range Line Rd. From 3:30 – 4:30 pm, he’ll offer Sonic Immersion, a deep listening experience performed on gongs and Tibetan bowls. Featured is a huge 40” Atlantis gong that weighs more than 50 pounds and has an incredible dynamic range. Augmenting this magnificent instrument is a smaller 22” Atlantis gong, a 28” Chinese wind gong, and two Tibetan bowls. By using different types of mallets to strike, rub, and mute the gongs, a wide variety of tonal expressions can be generated.

On July 16, 4 – 5:30 pm, a concert at Heron House, overlooking Washington Harbor, will treat listeners to Christian’s unmistakable cello playing along with various ethnic string instruments. His music moves the listener with a haunting beauty, and his use of live looping expresses a universal musical language that transcends boundaries, cultures, and generations.

Beverages and appetizers will follow the concert. Space is limited and may be reserved by calling 920.847.3010. A $15 donation is suggested. For more information, call Mari at 920.847.2579 or visit
