Hans Christian Solo Concert

Door County-based musician Hans Christian offers a solo concert of original music on cello, ethnic string instruments and live looping at Woodwalk Gallery on July 7.

Presenting his unique blend of classical and world music flavors with layered loops and rich melodic textures, Christian offers a deep listening experience of the highest order. His effortless improvisations on the cello enrich his compositions and beguile the audience with a passionate musical sensitivity. Additional instruments featured in the concert include a Swedish nyckelharpa, an Indian sarangi and an Indian sitara.

His work as cellist, producer and touring artist has spanned more than three decades since his move from Germany to Los Angeles. He has recorded and played live with many well known artists in the genres of rock ’n roll, new age and yoga music. His solo appearances include numerous North American tours, as well as an artist in residency at Chartres Cathedral, France for six years.

Upcoming 2018 concerts include engagements in Germany with Los Angeles-based singer Spring Groove, performances at Midwest Yoga & Kirtan Fest in Jefferson, Wis. and select concerts at retreat centers in the Midwest. His music has been released on 20 CDs and Christian continues to work as producer out of STUDIO 330 in Sturgeon Bay. More information can be found at hanschristianmusic.com.
