Hardy Gallery Announces 2024 Season

The Hardy Gallery will open for its 62nd season May 24, starting with its annual Wall-to-Wall Juried Exhibit on display May 24 – July 7.

The exhibit is open to emerging and established artists working in a variety of media, and this year’s judge is Door County artist Shan Bryan-Hanson. During the exhibit, the public can vote for their favorite piece to receive the People’s Choice Award. A juror talk will take place June 14, 2-3 pm, and an opening reception will be held May 24, 5:30-7 pm.

The Collection Invitational and Collector’s Choice Benefit will be displayed July 12 – Aug. 25. The exhibit features two works by more than 40 established local and regional artists. Each artist donates one of their works to the Collector’s Choice Benefit, the Hardy’s largest special-event fundraiser. An opening reception will be held July 12, 5:30-7 pm.

Hung in tandem with the Collection Invitational is the Community Mosaic Project, featuring hundreds of 6-by-6-inch tiles decorated by members of the public. During the exhibit, patrons can purchase one of the canvases in a blind mailing; all proceeds benefit the Hardy. The mosaic will be unveiled July 12, 5:30-7 pm.

From Aug. 30 to Oct. 13, 60 Years Sixty Works will be on exhibit.

In 2022, the Hardy Gallery turned 60, but the organization opted against a traditional celebration due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will commemorate its anniversary with a survey of the diverse artistic voices that have shaped the community over the years. An opening reception will be held Aug. 30, 5:30-7 pm.

The gallery will be closed for exhibit installation May 20-24, July 8-12 and Aug. 26-30. All exhibits end on Sundays at 3 pm. The gallery will close for the season Oct. 13.

The Hardy Gallery is located at 3083 Anderson Lane in Ephraim.
