Ephraim’s Hardy Gallery on Anderson Dock will begin the 2011 season with its annual Wall-to-Wall Salon, scheduled for May 15 – 19. The annual season kick-off event for the exhibit will take place Saturday, May 14 from 5:30 – 7 pm. The exhibit and opening reception are free and open to the public.
The Wall-to-Wall Salon will feature work submitted for the 49th Annual Juried Exhibit. Visitors to the gallery are encouraged to vote for their favorite pieces with the popular People’s Choice Awards. Votes are free and can be cast throughout the duration of the weeklong salon.
At the end of the salon, the artwork will be juried by a diverse panel of jurors. All jurors are local practicing artists or arts professionals, and the work they select (as well as the winner of the People’s Choice Award) will be on display for the 49th Annual Juried Exhibit, which will open Friday, May 27.
“165 exceptional artworks were submitted into last year’s Juried Exhibit, and we expect a great turnout again this year,” said Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, executive director for the Hardy Gallery. “The Wall-to-Wall Salon is a great opportunity for the public to see the development of artwork by both emerging and established artists before the jury process takes place.”
The gallery will be open from 10 am – 5 pm from May 15 – 19. For more information visit http://www.thehardy.org or call 920.854.2210.
