Hardy Gallery Concludes Anniversary Season with Celebration

Join the Hardy on Oct. 7, 4 – 6 pm, as it honors its golden anniversary with a celebration open to the general public. The community is invited to enjoy the food and festivities—cake and ice cream, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and live music provided by classical guitarist, Steve Lavell. There will also be a two-hour silent auction including artwork, gift certificates and a never-before-seen Ferdinand L. Hotz work.

“We are inviting everyone to join us in celebrating all that the Hardy has provided to the community over the years,” says Hardy Executive Director Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead. “Party attendees are invited to share and record their stories, take a look back through a photo slideshow, and share in eating some cake.”

The public is also invited to view the artwork of the organization’s founder, Francis Howe Hardy, in the exhibit “Successful in Business, Extraordinary in Art: The Artistic Legacy of Francis Howe Hardy and Ferdinand L. Hotz.” The exhibit features a selection of watercolors by Hardy as well as 75 never-before-seen paintings spanning a 50-year period by Hotz.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 9; the gallery will close for the season at the end of the exhibit’s run.
