The Hardy Gallery announced the award winners of its 49th Annual Juried Exhibit at the opening reception for the exhibition on May 27.
Jurors Karsten Topelmann, Ed Fenendael, John Whitney, Paul Lurie, and Robert Merline ultimately chose 62 works of the 112 submitted to the Wall-to-Wall Salon.
Of the artworks that were selected to be in the exhibit, five won Juror’s Awards ($100 cash prize). These award winners include Andrea Kinsey Jacquet for “Rue 24” (oil, 2011), Bill Doyle for “Morning Reflections” (watercolor, 2010), Sally Everhardus for “Can You Hear me Now?” (mixed media, 2011), John Patrickus for “Sunset Stroll” (oil, 2010), and Linda Sheard for “Platter Waves” (ceramic, 2011).
One piece earned a People’s Choice Award ($50 cash prize), which was voted on by visitors to the Wall-to-Wall Salon prior to the juried show. The 2011 People’s Choice Award went to Leonard Quaretti, for his piece entitled “Baileys Harbor Fishing” (photograph on canvas, 2010).
The 49th Annual Juried Exhibition will be on display at the Hardy through Sunday, July 10 at 3 pm. The gallery, located on Ephraim’s historic Anderson Dock, is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, with extended hours to 8 pm on Monday evenings in conjunction with the Ephraim Business Council’s “Evenings in Ephraim” concert series. The Hardy will be open on Monday evenings beginning Monday, June 20.
