Hardy Seeks Creative Professionals for Partnerships

The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts (FHCA) is seeking arts professionals interested in sharing their knowledge with local youth to participate in the center’s ETC – Exposure to Creativity – program. ETC is a multifaceted arts education program coordinated in collaboration with Gibraltar School and Friends of Gibraltar, a 25 year-old school-community group serving the Gibraltar school district. Instructors are needed for hands-on workshops, demonstrations and the arts mentor component for the 2008-09 program, set to launch in November.

“ETC seeks to respond to the need to make sure that our local youth have equal opportunity to benefit from the resources of our creative arts community,” said Elizabeth Meissner, interim executive director. “By building exposure to the arts throughout the school year, we will provide students with experiences that will better equip them to make creative contributions to their communities and to make thoughtful life choices as adults.”

The FHCA is enthusiastically recruiting creative professionals – active or retired – with knowledge in their respective fields to share with youth in areas of mutual interest. Individuals with professional experience in the visual or performing arts, architecture, literary and culinary arts, landscape, graphic and interior design and anything in between are encouraged to contact the Hardy at 920.854.2210 to complete a survey.

ETC has been supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, Gibraltar Area Schools, FOG and private donors.
