Heading to Sectionals

Sturgeon Bay wrestler Lucas Stephenson lived up to the motto printed across his back “Whatever It Takes” when after injuring his knee while being forced off the mat he got back in the match to finish second and qualify for sectionals.

Sturgeon Bay High School hosted a Division 2 wrestling regional competition on Feb. 15. Denmark, Luxemburg-Casco, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol, Southern Door, Two Rivers and Wrightstown participated in the event where competitors began their journey to the state tournament.

Southern Door had a number of wrestlers advance to sectionals with numerous first and second place finishes. Sturgeon Bay’s Lucas Stephenson qualified for sectionals with a second place finish.

Sectionals are set for Feb. 22 at Seymour High School; matches begin at 10:30 am.
