Hearing Loss Support Group Begins

Door Advocates for Hearing Impaired (DAHI) is in the process of forming a new chapter of Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) in the Door County community to develop a program for advocating for individuals who are hearing impaired. An organizational meeting and introduction to the HLAA is scheduled for July 25, 11 am – 12 pm at the Aging and Disability Resource Center, 916 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay.

Later in the day, 1-2 pm, Calvin Richtig, Assistive Technology Specialist and Options for Independent Living, will present “Assistive Technology for Hearing Impaired.” This seminar is designed to help people learn how to maintain independence and thrive through hearing loss.

Educational material is provided at both seminars. People of all ages and all degrees of hearing loss are welcome. A hearing loop system is provided. For more information, call 920.868.2997 or visit hearingloss.org.
