Heather Cooper Presents Solo Exhibition at Gerhard CF Miller Gallery in Door County

The Gerhard CF Miller Gallery in Sturgeon Bay, opened in 1943 and credited as Door Countyʼs first fine art gallery, will present an exhibition of realist oil paintings by Heather Cooper, entitled Heather Cooper: A Solo Exhibition. The exhibition will continue through September 3.

Cooper, a native of Toronto, moved to rural Ontario in 2008. Prior to her focus on representations of rural life she has achieved success in commercial art and portrait painting. Heather Cooper: A Solo Exhibition will feature 36 realist oil paintings depicting famous sailing ships and rural landscapes. This will be the first solo exhibition in the United States of her work.

Cooper has had a prestigious career in the arts that spans more than 40 years. She has been commissioned to paint the portraits of such celebrities as Pope John Paul II, Fay Dunaway, Bobby Orr, and Alex Tribek. Her paintings are in private collections throughout North America. Over the years she has created works for organizations such as the Canadian National Ballet, the Baltimore Symphony, and the Smithsonian Institute.
