Hedgie the Hedgehog Comes to Sturgeon Bay

Hedgie the Hedgehog, one of the most endearing woodland characters from acclaimed author/illustrator Jan Brett, will be guest of honor at the annual Winter Children’s Party at 12:30 pm on Jan. 30 at the Door County Library, 107 S. Fourth Ave., Sturgeon Bay. A visit from a costumed version of Hedgie will highlight the event, along with story reading, games, balloons and treats.

Designed for pre-school through second grade youngsters, this free party has been a much-anticipated event on each year’s long winter calendar since it was launched in 2000 by The Friends of Door County Libraries. Past parties have featured such beloved children’s literature characters as Cat in the Hat, Curious George, Peter Rabbit and Olivia.
