Help Door County Humane Society Meet the Saving Pets Challenge

From July 6 through Aug. 4, the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) is once again enrolled in the Michelson Found Saving Pets Challenge. This challenge consists of more than 300 animal welfare organizations competing to see who can raise the most money for their organization in 30 days.

Each week of the Saving Pets Challenge there are mini challenges to encourage supporters to donate. The winner of the mini challenge for July 6-12 gets an extra $10,000 added to the money they have already raised for their organization. So to win, DCHS needs to raise the most money of all the competing groups.

“The first week of the Challenge is extremely crucial but now that there is $10,000 on the line, it has become monumental,” stated Communications and Development Coordinator April Delfosse. “Last year, in the first week, DCHS was in third or fourth place. If we can get the word out and push for more donations this year, we could win the $10,000 bonus.”

For added encouragement to donate now, a few anonymous donors have stepped forward and pledged to match the money that DCHS raises up to $20,000. To donate, go to doorcountyhumanesociety.org and click on the red Saving Pets Challenge button on the right side of the screen.
