Heritage Dinners Returns for Another Season

The 2015 Heritage Dinner Series at the Farm Market Kitchen returns for another season. The dinners are a showcase event of the Farm Market Kitchen Incubator, a shared-used food processing center located in the marina district of Algoma.

Proceeds from the dinners help support The Farm Market Kitchen programs and certified kitchen for local food initiatives and entrepreneurs. The center not only makes kitchen space available for rent by the hour, but offers technical support, business assistance programs, and custom processing services.

The dinner series focuses on locally grown foods, regional favorites, and ethnic themes at the following dinner dates: July 16 – Summertime Sampler; Aug. 20 – Jamaican Ethnic Sampler; Aug. 17 – Asian Ethnic Sampler; Oct. 15 – Italian Harvest Dinner; and Nov. 19 – Local Holiday Favorites. The dinners include appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages.

The Farm Market Kitchen Incubator is a unique nonprofit project. Mary Pat Carlson, director of the project, said, “We have been helping food business get started and grow for over 15 years. We have worked with over 150 local businesses thanks to generous community support and encouragement.”

“These dinners are a great way to support our programs, meet some of the newest food processors in Northeast Wisconsin, sample new products, and have an enjoyable evening.”
