Hey Hey 5K Draws an AutumnFest Crowd

Brigham Green led 331 runners who finished the fifth Hey Hey 5K run Sept. 28 in Baileys Harbor. Green, of Waukesha, finished in 18:32, topping Ryan Miller of Fish Creek, who finished in 19:19. 

Valerie Richter of St. Charles, Illinois, paced the women with a time of 19:29. Kate Nelson of Lake Villa, Illinois, finished second in 20:30, and Sturgeon Bay’s Annie Kapolnek finished third with a time of 20:58.

Nancy Rollins of Evanston, Illinois, won the women’s masters division with a time of 24:22, just ahead of running partner Susan Reynolds-Smith of Ephraim. Andrew Gabrysiak paced the men’s masters division with a time of 19:50. 

Overall and masters-division winners received gift cards from Door County Brewing Company. Next year’s race will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020.
