Hidden Sights

“Window to the Past” by Clarence Scherer.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek is featuring the photography of Clarence Scherer, artist of the week for Sept. 13 – 19.

Scherer enjoys taking photos of the beautiful scenes in nature—especially the “hidden” sights that others might miss. He prints photos for himself, as well as for others, on canvas, photo paper and fine art papers. Scherer has dabbled in photography for most of his life. When he retired from his position as an industrial education teacher, he began taking his life-long hobby more seriously by studying photography with Door County naturalist Roy Lukes. Clarence and Mary Anne, his wife of 48 years, own A Decorator’s Gallery in Egg Harbor.

The DCAL gallery is open every day except Wednesday from 11 am to 5 pm (3 pm on Sundays). It is located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. For more information visit doorcountyartleague.org.
