High School Sports: Clippers Soccer Rolls, Vikings Volleyball Advances

Sturgeon Bay won its 11th consecutive regional soccer title with a 9-0 win over Omro in Division 4 boys soccer playoff action Saturday.

Eli Dietzel scored a hat trick for the Clippers and Spencer Hubbard added a pair of goals. CJ Fairchild, Carson Dvorak, Ben Lueders and Owen Stevenson each scored a goal. Dylan Burk had four assists.

The Clippers host Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian Thursday at 7 p.m. in the opening round of sectional play.

Volleyball: Gibraltar Wins Regional

The Gibraltar volleyball team captured the Division 4 regional title with a 25-12, 25-16, 25-19 win over Hustisford Saturday.

Bella Bunda recorded 15 kills to break the school career record of 548. Abbi Sitte had 25 assists and seven kills, and Agne Zukauskaite added 10 kills and 34 digs.

The Vikings travel to Packerland Conference foe Green Bay NEW Lutheran-Providence Academy Thursday at 7 p.m. The Vikings and the Blazers split their two matches in the regular season.

Stenzel Heading Back to State

For the third consecutive year, Sevastopol’s Olivia Stenzel qualified for the Division 3 girls cross country state meet.

Stenzel finished third at the Manitowoc Lutheran Sectional with a time of 19 minutes, 56 seconds. Brooklyn Luebke from Manitowoc Lutheran finished first in 19:45, and Lourdes Academy’s Ellen Moore finished second with a time of 19:53. 

The state meet is Saturday at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. The girls Division 3 race begins at 1:20 p.m.
