Construction on Highway 42 in Fish Creek and the Town of Gibraltar’s sidewalk project along Highway 42 are both progressing.
Crews are continuing to place pavement markings, final landscaping and street lighting from Bluff Lane to County F; and continuing to place topsoil and final landscaping from County F to north of Gibraltar Road.
The highway was originally scheduled to be open to County F beginning on Memorial Day weekend, but additional sidewalk and driveway work requested by the town pushed that back to June 5.
Drivers are currently required to follow the detour route using County E and County A, with access allowed to locations within the work zone. The town work is anticipated to be completed by June 5, and the state work by June 26. The resurfacing project cost $5.6 million and extends from Highway 42 for 1.18 miles, from Bluff Lane to Gibraltar Road in Fish Creek.
