Are you curious about Crossroads at Big Creek’s restoration efforts and plans? Its restoration plan is available at crossroadsatbigcreek.org, and you can learn from experience by becoming a Habitat Healer volunteer.
People of all ages are invited to meet Tuesdays, 6:30-8 pm, and Saturday mornings (except July 3) to help with land-restoration efforts. Instructions will be given; equipment and gloves will be provided. Wear clothing and footwear that can get dirty and wet. Meet at the workshop/nursery on the east end of the main campus’s parking lot.
To learn more about trees, take a free, guided hike with Crossroads’ summer intern, Megan Hart, on July 7, 1:30 pm. She’s a UW-Madison forestry major who will share information along the Forest Habitat Trail: a gentle trail that’s just short of a mile and passes through a variety of forest types. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.
Community well-water testing is available Mondays – Thursdays, 12-3 pm (except July 5), in the upper level of the Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.
