Hike This: A Quick Jaunt through the Red Pine Trail

Located at the first parking spot off Clark Lake Road, this short loop moves hikers quickly through a pine plantation, and its educational signage makes it a perfect hike for families with young children. It also connects with the Yellow Trail at its midway point, so it’s a great access point to connect with several of Whitefish Dunes’ other hiking loops and spurs.

Where: Whitefish Dunes State Park

Length: 0.25 miles

Difficulty: Easy

Highlights: Being surrounded by the tall, densely packed pine forest was so beautiful that it made me wish the hike was longer. Luckily, you can always hike it twice.
