Hike This: The Ancient Shores Trail at Potawatomi State Park

A short way into Potawatomi State Park, near the park’s store, lies the Ancient Shores Trail: a half-mile trek that takes hikers up and down along three ancient shorelines.

This is a great hike for families with children because of its short length, wide paths and the educational content along the trail, which identifies plant and animal life that’s native to the park. Though it’s short, this tranquil hike offers enough ecological diversity to warrant a slower pace to absorb everything it offers.
