Historical Egg Harbor Program

The Egg Harbor Historical Society will host a historical education program at 3 pm on Feb. 22 at Shipwrecked in Egg Harbor. The EHHS will present a program covering the downtown area of the village. The program will concentrate on the Kewaunee House and expand out into sites surrounding the old Kewaunee House. The Kewaunee House continues, as it started in 1882, providing food, beverage and rest for travelers whether arriving in the harbor by schooner or stagecoach in the early years or motoring in a sleek auto or yacht of today. The Kewaunee House evolved over the years into the Harbor Inn, Murphy Moore’s Harbor Inn, Thimbleberry, Blue Iris, and now Shipwrecked. Being the hub of the village through its history, the site has seen the history of the entire village. The historic society’s program is open to the public. Shipwrecked will remain open so some may decide to come early, or stay after and dine.
