Historical Organizations Pair Up

In conjunction with the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts’ “Door County Festival of the Arts” on Saturday, August 9, the Ephraim Historical Foundation and the Sister Bay Historical Society are offering cultural events and trolley tours to the public.

The Ephraim Historical Foundation/Ephraim Village Museums is offering a Free Museum Day in which all of Ephraim’s five museums will be open to the public free of charge, and the Sister Bay Historical Society/Corner of the Past has three events planned for the day, which include a heritage program where Chip Carving will be demonstrated by Harold Sunstrom, an all-you-care-to-eat pancake breakfast served from 7:30 – 11 am ($7 adults; $4 children 3 – 12), and their popular Saturday Farmer’s Market. In addition, the two organizations will be joining forces to offer cultural trolley tours on the festival’s trolley from 10 am – 5 pm.

The Festival of the Arts trolley will be running through the villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay from 10 am – 5 pm, with one docent each from the Ephraim Historical Foundation and the Sister Bay Historical Society on hand to give an overview of the villages’ histories. Sister Bay Historical Society’s portion of the trolley tour is being donated by Baylake Bank.
