History Hikes Offered at The Clearing

The Clearing Folk School is offering docent-led hikes covering the history, folklore and landscape of the school and its 128-acre property.

The hiking tours visit the historic buildings and campus and are led by volunteers. The two-hour hikes begin at 1 pm on select Saturdays and Sundays. Hikes are scheduled for Aug. 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26; Sept. 1, 9, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30; and Oct. 6, 7, 21, 27 and 28.

Participants meet at the Jens Jensen Visitor Center, located at 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay. No pre-registration is necessary. The terrain is rugged and sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended.
