Hitching Post Reopens

Last Man Standing

The Hitching Post is now re-opened for business year round under new ownership. Hours are 7:30 am to 11 pm daily (closed Tuesdays) and to 2 am Friday and Saturday.

Breakfast starts at 7:30 am with Door County Coffee & Tea, espresso and lattes, and ends at 11 am for the lunch and dinner menu. Their bar features the NFL package to watch this winter season while enjoying Bloody Marys, wine, martinis, tap beers, specialty beers and alcohol by the fireplace.

The Hitching Post will celebrate its opening on Nov. 1. The Last Man Standing Bluegrass Band will play folk and bluegrass music from 4 to 6 pm. The group consists of Jim Blahnik on mandolin, Tad Greene on banjo, Rick Gordon on stand-up bass, and John Spitzley on guitar. The four musicians have a combined 200-plus years of musical experience. The guys in the band are excited to play at the Hitching Post, especially Tad, who remembers walking there in the 1950s to drink an Orange Crush and listen to Elvis on the jukebox. The Hitching Post is located at 4849 Glidden Drive in Valmy.
