Hive Box Construction Tips Shared at Next Door County Beekeepers Club Meeting

The Door County Beekeepers Club will meet at Crossroads at Big Creek for their monthly meeting on Feb. 23 at 6:30 pm at the Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St., in Sturgeon Bay. The public is welcome.

At the meeting Steve Hupfer will present “What’s Up with the Box?” Hupfer is president of The Brown County Beekeepers Association in Green Bay. He sustains his own bees by raising queens from his own stock, regenerating his hives, and builds and maintains his own hive boxes and frames. He will show the different types of hive boxes, different building joints, woods, paints and style instructions for building your own. Different plans for frames and foundations will be shared.
